Toroni Alpha Studios accommodation is located in the center of the Toroni settlement, behind the church of Agios Athanasios. It is a 4-5 minute walk from Toroni beach. In the last decades the settlement of Toroni developed as holiday settlement along the beautiful sandy beach and the sea with turquoise crystal clear and calm waters. It is 23 km from Neos Marmaras and 128 km  from Thessaloniki’s airport (SKG). It is located 1Km before the beautiful port of Porto Koufo, on the route between the road of Nikiti-Neos Marmaras-Sarti.

The accommodation options in Toroni are mainly rooms for rent and small hotels. Also for nature lovers in the area there are organized camping areas. In addition there is a point between two bays in the Korakas position where tourists frequently visit with their caravans.

All the beaches in the area are enchanting and they will surely delight you. In Toroni, along the main coastal road there are shops, taverns and pizzerias, but also supermarkets. Also in the beach there are many beach bars that you can enjoy your bath during the day, but also a refreshing drink night.

Historical facts: Toroni was also an important city in the ancient years. According to Greek Mythology, Toroni was wife of Proteus, son of Poseidon. Ancient Toroni was built during the 8th-7th century BC from the Chalkidians. Today a section from the city walls is preserved (remains of Likythos Castle), while there are traces of the prehistoric settlement & ruins of the early Christian period 5th century three-aisled basilica church, with a central mosaic corridor of which few parts are preserved, which you can visit.

The turquoise and crystal clear waters of the Toroneos Gulf invite you to enjoy an unforgettable vacation. You can enjoy its crystal clear sea and ~3 km of its beach and to walk the beautiful routes upstream mountainous mass with an amazing view of the sea from above.

THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

The mountainous region of Toroni is crossed by an extremely dense hydrographic network, consisting of streams and smaller ones important streams with directions mainly to the SW, which discharge in the Toroneos gulf, draining its upstream area Toroni and more broadly the western side of the Sithonia peninsula. Among the geological formations of the hilly and mountainous region of Toroni have a significant spread Greenschists occurring in both the southern and its northeastern part and the Granodiorite of Sithonia which it is intersected by pegmatitic and quartz veins and covers the
central part of the area. In lowland Toroni where the settlement is dominated by alluvial deposits and alluvium as well as coastal deposits.

Above Toroni rises Mount Itamos, which is the largest mountain range of the Sithonia peninsula with a peak at 810 meters above sea level. The southwest slope of Itamos, which overlooks the Gulf of Toroni, is wooded and is suitable for leisure activities, hiking (at its numerous trails) and cycling. Forest roads are suitable for 4X4 vehicles. In the mountainous mass you will find forests of pine, pine, pine, black pine, aria, eastern sycamore, riparian forests alder, broad-leaved broadleaf scrub vegetation, etc. The fauna of the area is also remarkable. They meet a lot mammal species the Badger, the Jackal, the Boar, the Weasel, the Deer, amphibian species such as Salamander, Newt
Tree Frog and Lake Frog, as well as reptile species such as turtles, lizards and snakes. Especially for the Deer, it has almost disappeared and only a few individuals are believed to be left.
